Catering predominantly to Chinese students aged 1518 the school offers a British curriculum infused with a strong Chinese work ethic. The school community is comprised of approximately 225 students and 55 teaching staff fostering a friendly familylike atmosphere. The school is independently funded and operates on an academically selective basis ensuring a rigorous and enriching educational environment.

The school is located in the culturally rich Sichuan Province famously known as The Land of Milk and Honey due to its abundant agricultural produce. Chengdu the provincial capital is renowned for its spicy cuisine Giant Panda Research Centre and vibrant local culture. Key Responsibilities:

• Curriculum Delivery: Teach ESL classes to students aged 1518 focusing on IGCSE and ALevel content ensuring a high standard of language instruction.
• Lesson Planning: Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that meet the needs of diverse learners and adhere to the British curriculum standards.
• Assessment and Evaluation: Design and administer assessments to evaluate student progress provide constructive feedback and adjust teaching strategies accordingly.
• Classroom Management: Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and fosters a love for learning.
• Student Support: Provide additional support to students who require extra help including organizing extracurricular tutoring sessions and offering guidance on language acquisition strategies.
• Professional Development: Participate in ongoing professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in ESL and international education.
• Collaboration: Work collaboratively with colleagues to share resources strategies and best practices contributing to a cohesive and supportive teaching community.
• Cultural Engagement: Encourage students to engage with the local culture and community enhancing their overall educational experience.

Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelors degree in English Education or a related field. A Masters degree or equivalent is preferred.
• Certification: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching certification.
• Experience: Minimum of 3 years of ESL teaching experience with specific experience in teaching IGCSE and ALevel curricula.
• Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage and inspire students. Proficiency in using educational technology and digital learning tools.
