About the Role
We are seeking a Geoscientific Systems Land and Tenure Officer to support our largescale mineral exploration projects in Rwanda. This role involves generating and managing highquality exploration data using advanced workflows databases and systems to maximize data quality and availability.
Responsibilities
- Ensuring compliance and corporate governance in geoscience technical systems and promoting best practices in data and information management.
- Providing handson support for geoscientific technical systems data and field devices.
- Supporting highquality field data capture and communications.
- Collaborating with project and data management teams to define understand and deliver project data management requirements.
- Engaging with the regional Data and Information team to identify and implement improvements in systems and data management practices including optimizing or automating workflows and standardizing approaches.
- Maintaining the exploration tenure management system and ensuring compliance with jurisdictional requirements related to mineral rights.
Assisting with the identification of land ownership within mineral rights licenses where exploration activities are conducted.
Requirements
- A strong commitment to safety for yourself and your peers.
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in geosciences earth sciences or IS&T (Information Systems & Technology) are highly desirable.
- Experience in earth sciences mineral exploration or a related business with an understanding of the business dynamics and implications for providing systems and support to remote teams.
- The ability to travel to field sites.
- Proficiency and experience in GIS (Geographic Information System) and spatial data management systems with ESRI experience being preferable.
- Experience in managing relational databases including Drilling and Surface Sampling systems. Proficiency in SQL and/or Python is highly regarded.
- Strong analytical skills to understand business requirements evaluate options and deliver systems information and data solutions to meet business needs.
- Familiarity with Rwandas mineral rights administration and surface right/ownership systems.
