Job Description

As a School Physical Therapist you will play a crucial role in helping students develop recover or maintain their physical mobility and functional skills. You will provide clientcentered services that enable students to confidently and independently participate in school activities and daily life. This position offers the opportunity to work collaboratively with educators families and other professionals to promote student success and wellbeing.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assessments: Conduct comprehensive physical therapy assessments to evaluate students motor skills balance coordination and physical function.
  • Treatment Plans: Develop individualized treatment plans based on assessment findings and in collaboration with the students educational team and family.
  • Therapy Services: Provide direct physical therapy services to students including therapeutic exercises mobility training and use of assistive devices.
  • Collaboration: Work with teachers special education staff and other related service providers to integrate therapy goals into students educational programs and classroom activities.
  • Progress Monitoring: Monitor students progress and adjust treatment plans as needed maintaining accurate documentation of therapy sessions and progress reports.
  • Education: Educate and support students families and school staff regarding strategies for promoting physical development mobility and independence within the school setting.
  • Team Participation: Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings including IEP meetings to develop and review Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) for students.


Requirements

  • Education: Master s or Doctoral degree in Physical Therapy.
  • Licensure: Valid Georgia state license or eligibility for licensure as a Physical Therapist.
  • Experience: Experience working with children and adolescents in a school setting is preferred.
  • Skills: Strong knowledge of physical therapy assessment tools and intervention strategies excellent communication and interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
