Job Title: Procurement Category Manager
Location: Fully Remote Anywhere in the USA
Duration: 12 months (Potential Extension)
Shift Timing: 8 AM to 5 PM
Responsibilities:
- As the Procurement Category Manager you will be responsible for leading procurement activities in your managed categories.
- Stakeholders and suppliers based in the US and potentially international.
- You will possess a strong procurement background having previously covered category management and worked with complex contract negotiation
Essential Functions:
- Support procurement activities in assigned categories including assessments and recommendations for new suppliers.
- Collaborate with business partners on contract negotiation strategy and lead negotiations with vendors.
- Drive saving initiatives track performance and ensure savings are realized.
- Lead procurement efforts from strategy development to supplier selection and contract management.
- Conduct spendanalytics benchmarking and stakeholder meetings.
- Develop strategies to control spending reduce risk and improve overall value.
- Track project progress and ensure timely reporting of savings.
- Participate in business reviews and identify continuous improvement opportunities.
Interactions:
- Interact with internal customers at all levels of the organization including executives.
- Engage with suppliers for contract review negotiations and execution.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree or related work experience within a similar role.
- 8 years of Procurement experience ideally with 4 years of experience in assigned categories.
- Desirable certifications: ISM CPSM.
Knowledge/Skills:
- Extensive experience with supplier management contract negotiations strategy development and spend analysis.
- Strong written and verbal communication/presentation skills suitable for executive level management.
- Exceptional customer service skills and ability to collaborate effectively with crossfunctional teams and suppliers.
- Experience in healthcare or other regulated environments and following quality management system procedures.
- Global business experience including working across multiple time zones and cultures.
- Strong project management and organizational skills.
- Ability to analyze data and identify savings opportunities vendor consolidation and contract performance.
- Flexibility to adapt to changes and make quick thoughtful decisions in a fastpaced environment.
Work Environment:
- Normal office environment with moderate to heavy phone usage and long periods of sitting.
- Flexible work hours required to meet project deadlines.
- Some travel (up to 10%) may be required depending on assigned projects.
