You will be updated with latest job alerts via emailScope: Learning Support Assistant Reporting to: Head of Inclusion and Student Wellbeing The Middle and High School Learning Support Assistant enhances the educational experience of students by providing targeted support in Math, Science, and English. The assistant works to create a stimulating, challenging, and well-organized learning environment that caters to a broad spectrum of student needs Requirements• Qualifications and experience. The school prefers people with: • A Bachelor's degree in education or an equivalent field. • Appropriate qualifications relevant to the students being supported. • Experience in providing individual, small group, and in-class learning support. • Experience with special education needs (SEN), and experience with behavior management techniques. • Knowledge and Skills. He/She should: • Be aligned with the ISL values of diversity, passion, identity, and understanding. • Possess excellent communication skills and be willing to adapt to the demands of an international school. In particular, they should be able to communicate effectively in English. • Have a high level of understanding of how children learn and possess the ability to motivate students to perform at their best. • Be able to inspire students through personalized learning and by using a variety of styles, creating challenging and engaging learning opportunities. • Responsibilities. • Implement Learning Support Guidelines. • Liaise with the Head of Inclusion and Student Wellbeing to support the effective delivery of the curriculum to the students. • Promote the health and safety of students. • Participate in professional learning and contribute to regular staff training and meetings. • Assess and report student progress to relevant team members. • Collaborated with other professionals effectively. • Specific Responsibilities. • Act as learning and social support for students. • Support the student's Individual Education Plan (IEP), to ensure they maximize their learning opportunities. • Liaise with teachers to enable students to participate and progress in lessons. • Support students in developing social connections with peers and staff. • Utilize educational software and behaviour management techniques as needed.
