Summary
Provides architectural and technical guidance to product development in order to betterensure sound engineering design process and quality practices are followed. Overseessoftware hardware and infrastructure design. The position may include ownership of theSoftware Development Lifecycle (SDLC) continual integration process and tools to deliverfi nished high quality and compelling products. Builds and leads the software hardware andinfrastructure development group while ensuring the Sutter Health Information Services (IS)technical standardization vision is incorporated into all aspects of Sutter Healths services andsolutions. Is responsible for organizational balance and system coherency between build/buyscenarios requiring a fl exible architecture for internal development and applicationintegration.

JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES:
STRATEGIC & TACTICAL PLANNING:
Interface with representatives from business clinical IS and research groups regardingrequirements and the delivery of solutions.
Work closely with leadership teams to defi ne product direction.
Develop maintain and own the technical product roadmap.
Develop and evolve policies and procedures related to security and support operations.
Create engineering processes SDLC process system and tool evaluation and operationprocesses to ensure reproducible and high quality development while maintaining control overcosts.
TECHNICAL MANAGEMENT:
Drive overall architecture design build security and certifi cation of software hardware andinfrastructure products.
Oversee technical direction and strategy for all components of applications and systemsincluding setting established service levels.
Provide Subject Matter Expert (SME) role for solutions managing escalated production issueswith internal development teams and vendors.
Stay informed on emerging products services trends development methodologies andstandards available to support interfaces APIs service bus mobile solutions enterpriseapplications web portals and information management.
Defi ne and manage SDLC and Continual Integration processes where applicable.
Suggest recommendations to apply emerging technologies or standards to improve services.
Engage in handson indepth analysis review and design of the software including technicalreview and analysis of the source code as well as review inhouse developed code andtechnologies provided by third party vendors.
RESOURCE MANAGEMENT:
Develop and execute software hardware and infrastructure engineering plans whilemanaging engineering schedules resource allocation and budget.
Ensure eff ective deployment of skills and other resources are utilized to enhance agilityfl exibility and cost eff ectiveness in response to business needs.
Promote and enforce compliance to established methodologies and eff orts that supportoverall resource and capacity management.
EDUCATION:
Equivalent experience will be accepted in lieu of the required degree or diploma.
Bachelors: Computer Science Information Technology or related fi eld
TYPICAL EXPERIENCE:
5 years of recent relevant experience.
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
Extensive knowledge and experience with industry development languages and frameworks.
Working knowledge of networking architecture and other protocols.
Working knowledge of secure coding practices thread modeling and vulnerabilityassessments.
Profi cient knowledge of objectoriented programming client/server scripting portal
technology web architecture and development.
Extensive knowledge of designing developing and implementing largescale system projects.
Perform eff ectively in environments with frequent and fl uctuating workload changescompeting demands and frequent interruptions and/or distractions.
