About the role

Information is the key to helping Odevo companies deliver great customer service from internal dashboards to external client reports. The Reporting Developer will be responsible for designing developing and maintaining Power BI reports and dashboards. This role involves engaging with stakeholders to gather and understand reporting requirements translating those requirements into effective data visualizations and ensuring the overall quality and performance of the reporting solutions.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

Report and Dashboard Development:

    • Design develop and maintain Power BI reports and dashboards to meet business needs.
    • Create interactive and userfriendly data visualizations that provide actionable insights.

    Stakeholder Engagement:

    • Engage with stakeholders to gather and understand their reporting requirements.
    • Translate business requirements into technical specifications for Power BI solutions.
    • Conduct regular meetings and presentations to communicate progress and gather feedback.
    • Provide advice and guidance to stakeholders to improve general data literacy and help enable reporting self service

    Data Integration and Management:

    • Extract transform and load (ETL) data from various sources into Power BI.
    • Ensure data accuracy and integrity within Power BI reports.
    • Optimize Power BI data models and queries for performance and scalability.

    Quality Assurance:

    • Perform testing and validation of reports and dashboards to ensure accuracy and reliability.
    • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to Power BI reports and dashboards.

    Documentation and Training:

    • Document processes methodologies and best practices for Power BI development.
    • Provide training and support to endusers on using Power BI reports and dashboards.

    Continuous Improvement:

    • Stay uptodate with the latest features and updates in Power BI.
    • Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement best practices in BI development.

    Skills & Experience

    • Bachelors degree in Computer Science Information Technology Business Analytics or a related field; or equivalent experience.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    • Excellent IT and numeracy skills
    • Proven experience in developing Power BI reports and dashboards.
    • Experience with data modelling data warehousing and ETL processes.
    • Excellent working knowledge of DAX (Data Analysis Expressions) and M language
    • Experience of writing SQL queries for standard SQL databases such as MSSQL MySQL or MS Dataverse desired
    • Proficiency in Power BI Desktop and Power BI Service
    • Knowledge of Azure Data Services (e.g. Azure SQL Database Azure Data Factory).
    • Understands BI concepts data integration data warehousing data modelling and database administration
    • Strong desire to improve how things are done
    • Proactive enthusiastic and output driven
    • Strong desire to develop and grow their skills
    • Excellent analytical and problemsolving skills.
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective stakeholder engagement.
    • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
