Job Description

Summary of Job Function:

  • Will primarily support Peritoneal Dialysis (PD) therapy and product training needs of nursed within the hospitals together with the training of patients starting PD at home.
  • Will aim to develop and maintain high quality and effective PD training program for patients and nurses which will be subject to periodic audit by the renal marketing/sales team to assess effectiveness.
  • Plans a program of PD care that allows patients to understand perform and independently manage their own PD therapy prescription so that dialysis can be safely performed at home.
  • Act as a guide / mentor / resource to nurses in peritoneal dialysis centers.
  • Keep accurate records of PD center patient data and educational progress.
  • Prepare monthly patients reports when required.
  • Independently manage a caseload of patients in the community
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff (customers) from referring renal centers across.
  • Recognize when medical intervention of patients is needed and follows correct procedures to obtain this support.
  • Operate within clearly defined operational procedures and protocols established by Baxter Healthcare and work toward constantly reviewing these as and when required.
  • Assists in the planning organization and implementation of renal study days on a regular basis.
  • Always builds and promotes a positive image of the company to our customers.
  • Maintains and develops own professional and educational credibility by keeping up to date with current issues in Peritoneal Dialysis facilitating the education of hospitalbased nursing staff through knowledge sharing and appropriate use of educational resource materials.


Requirements

Specific Responsibilities: (in addition to above)

  • To lead the PD center training and development initiatives
  • To deliver high quality training on products and PD therapies to patients from all healthcare sectors either in the community or hospital environment.
  • Monitoring quality improvement results at each PD center
  • To promote and maintain leadership in the provision of highquality product and therapy education to nurses and patients.
  • To utilize and promote PD software program to optimize clinical outcomes

  • Ability to implement a holistic approach to patient care rather than task orientated

  • Healthcare market experience (minimum 2 years) within the renal environment
  • Computer literacy
  • Holding a Bachelor Degree of Nursing from a reputable university / Registered Nurse
  • Language Fluency in local language is essential. Good spoken and written English is a must
