Costing Accountant

Our client is a Retail Business.

Position: Costing Accountant

Type of Hiring: Contract

Location: Jatujak Bangkok

Responsibilities:

• Perform monthly physical inventory counts and reconciliations.
• Prepare and analyze inventory valuation reports ensuring accurate cost calculations and adherence to US GAAP and statutory requirements.
• Make necessary inventory adjustments for variances shrinkage and obsolescence.
• Participate in the monthend closing process for inventory accounts.
• Serve as the focal point for vendor master data maintenance.
• Create update and manage supplier records in the accounting system.
• Ensure accurate and uptodate vendor information for proper purchasing and payment processes.
• Block inactive vendors as needed.
• Support the maintenance of cost center profit center material and plant data.
• Analyze inventory data to identify cost trends and opportunities for improvement.
• Generate reports that provide insights into profitability by product location or other relevant segments.
• Stay uptodate on accounting standards and best practices related to inventory management.
• Collaborate with other departments such as purchasing operations and sales on inventoryrelated matters.
• Maintain accurate and complete accounting records.

Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in a costing or inventory accounting role.
• Strong understanding of US GAAP and statutory accounting principles as they apply to inventory valuation.
• Experience with inventory management systems and accounting software.
• Excellent analytical and problemsolving skills.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Good command of English.
