We are looking to hire a Commis for one of our client companies.
Qualifications:
- Culinary degree or equivalent certification from a recognized culinary institute (preferred).
- Minimum of 2 years experience in a kitchen environment such as culinary school externship or internship apprenticeship or entrylevel kitchen position.
- Basic knowledge of culinary techniques cooking methods and kitchen equipment.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to follow recipes and instructions accurately.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills with a positive attitude and willingness to support colleagues.
- Flexibility to work evenings weekends and holidays as required.
Responsibilities:
- To assist the chef de partie in preparing food according to the requirements or recipes or standards and the specifications for his department
- To prepare the miseenplace as required by the daily menu
- To maintain his workstation and area in clean and orderly condition at all times
- To advise his supervisor on items in short supply and book the same as needed from stores after getting the approved requisition
- To carry out any duties assigned by the chef
- To follow the house rules and policies laid down by the management
- To adhere to strict grooming and hygiene standards
- To consciously and continuously strive to improve his/ her skills and increase his/ her knowledge
