Commis

We are looking to hire a Commis for one of our client companies.

Qualifications:

• Culinary degree or equivalent certification from a recognized culinary institute (preferred).
• Minimum of 2 years experience in a kitchen environment such as culinary school externship or internship apprenticeship or entrylevel kitchen position.
• Basic knowledge of culinary techniques cooking methods and kitchen equipment.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to follow recipes and instructions accurately.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills with a positive attitude and willingness to support colleagues.
• Flexibility to work evenings weekends and holidays as required.

Responsibilities:

• To assist the chef de partie in preparing food according to the requirements or recipes or standards and the specifications for his department
• To prepare the miseenplace as required by the daily menu
• To maintain his workstation and area in clean and orderly condition at all times
• To advise his supervisor on items in short supply and book the same as needed from stores after getting the approved requisition
• To carry out any duties assigned by the chef
• To follow the house rules and policies laid down by the management
• To adhere to strict grooming and hygiene standards
• To consciously and continuously strive to improve his/ her skills and increase his/ her knowledge
