Job Description

Overview

The Purchase Manager plays a crucial role in our organization by overseeing the procurement process ensuring the timely acquisition of goods and services and maintaining strong relationships with suppliers. They are responsible for optimizing purchasing strategies to minimize costs maximize efficiency and maintain high quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement procurement strategies to meet cost and quality targets.
  • Identify and evaluate potential suppliers based on cost quality and delivery speed.
  • Negotiate contracts and prices with suppliers to achieve favorable terms and conditions.
  • Monitor inventory levels and collaborate with the inventory management team to prevent stockouts and overstock situations.
  • Oversee the procurement of raw materials equipment and services required for production.
  • Manage relationships with suppliers and resolve any issues that may arise.
  • Analyze market trends and pricing to make informed purchasing decisions.
  • Ensure compliance with procurement regulations and ethical standards.
  • Collaborate with other departments to understand their purchasing needs and develop effective procurement processes.
  • Implement costsaving initiatives and budget controls.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices.
  • Participate in the development of longterm purchasing strategies aligned with company goals.
  • Provide regular reports and updates on purchasing activities and performance metrics.
  • Lead mentor and train the purchasing team to enhance their skills and efficiency.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor s degree in Business Administration Supply Chain Management or related field.
  • Proven experience in procurement management or a similar role.
  • Understanding of supply chain management and logistics concepts.
  • Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
  • Knowledge of procurement best practices and industry trends.
  • Excellent analytical and problemsolving abilities.
  • Proficiency in use of procurement software and tools.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to lead and motivate a team effectively.
  • Familiarity with budgeting and financial principles.
  • Keen attention to detail and accuracy in work.
  • Understanding of legal and ethical considerations in procurement.
  • Certifications in procurement and supply chain management are a plus.
