Job Description

Urgent requirement of Oracle Developer Contract Canberra

Requirements

A highly skilled Oracle Database Developer / Data Engineer with a robust background in designing implementing and managing complex database solutions. This professional brings a deep understanding of Oracle database technologies combined with a proven track record of leveraging Oracle Data Integrator (ODI) and Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition (OBIEE) to deliver highquality data integration ETL processes and business intelligence insights. With a keen eye for innovation and efficiency they are adept at deploying cloudbased data solutions across leading platforms such as Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) and Azure ensuring scalability security and costeffectiveness. Their strong analytical skills problemsolving abilities and commitment to excellence make them a valuable asset in supporting Solutions Architects to develop and optimize database routines that drive program success. Through effective collaboration and communication they bridge technical and business domains to deliver datadriven solutions that meet strategic objectives and operational needs.

The Australian Fisheries Management Authority (AFMA) is seeking up to three (3) x Oracle Developers / Data Engineers.

AFMA previously advertised one role under DM22624 "Oracle Developer / Data Engineer" on the first of March 2024 respondents to this previous RFQ need not reapply.

AFMA will give preference to Canberra based applicants. Interstate candidates will be considered if they can attend the Majura Park offices 3 days per week for the first 12 months as the solution discovery process and solution design are undertaken. Thereafter more flexible work arrangements will be considered.

For interstate candidates please clearly state a rate for being in Canberra 3 days per week for the first 12 months and a rate for working on a more flexible basis that would suit you thereafter (e.g. 3 days per month in Majura Park or whatever you would propose).

Essential skills and experience
  • Database Development and Maintenance: Develop and maintain robust database systems including schema design stored procedures queries and scripts for data manipulation and retrieval. Ensure high performance security and scalability of database systems.
  • Data Integration and ETL Processes: Utilize Oracle Data Integrator (ODI) to design and implement ETL (Extract Transform Load) processes that integrate data from various sources into a cohesive and efficient architecture. Optimize data flows to improve performance and reliability.
  • Data Modelling Solid understanding of data modelling concepts and experience designing and implementing relational and dimensional data models.
  • Business Intelligence and Reporting: Support the development of reporting and analytics solutions using Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition (OBIEE). Collaborate with stakeholders to understand their data needs and deliver insightful actionable reports.
  • ProblemSolving Strong problemsolving skills and the ability to troubleshoot issues effectively. Must be able to provide efficient and scalable solutions to meet business needs.
  • Communication Excellent communication skills both verbal and written with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to nontechnical stakeholders.
Desired Criteria
  • Familiarity with Federal Government ICT
  • Cloud Data Management: Leverage cloud technologies for data storage processing and analytics. Experience with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) and Azure is desirable. Implement and maintain cloudbased data solutions ensuring they are scalable secure and costeffective.
  • Collaboration and Support: Work closely with the Solutions Architect and other team members to support the development and implementation of database routines and data strategies. Provide technical expertise and recommendations to improve program outcomes.
  • Security Clearance (Baseline) Possession of a baseline security clearance as a bare minimum
Duration: 6 Months and possible extension of another 3*1 Month
