Cath Lab Technician

Overview:

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and maintain the cardiac catheterization lab for procedures
• Operate and maintain complex imaging and monitoring equipment during cardiac procedures
• Assist physicians during diagnostic and interventional cardiac procedures
• Monitor and document patient vital signs during procedures
• Ensure the sterile field is maintained throughout procedures
• Assist with patient preparation and positioning for procedures
• Handle and administer contrast media and other medications as directed by physicians
• Respond effectively to emergencies and provide life support care as needed
• Collaborate with the healthcare team to deliver quality patient care
• Participate in the maintenance and inventory of cath lab supplies and equipment
• Adhere to regulatory and safety standards at all times
• Provide patient education and emotional support as required
• Maintain patient confidentiality and privacy at all times
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and ensure compliance with protocols

Required Qualifications:

• Associate degree in cardiovascular technology or related field
• Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) credential
• Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a cardiac cath lab setting
• Proficiency in operating and troubleshooting cardiac cath lab equipment
• Strong understanding of cardiac anatomy and physiology
• Ability to multitask and work efficiently under pressure
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Attention to detail and adherence to strict sterile techniques
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
• Flexibility to work varying shifts and respond to oncall duties
• Compliance with all regulatory and safety guidelines
• Strong ethical and professional conduct at all times
