Job Description

Title: Integration Technician
Location: Kent WA
Duration: 12 Months Extension

Screening Question:
  1. Can you provide a brief overview of your experience in the aerospace industry and any specific projects or achievements related to aerospace engineering or related fields
  2. What specific technical skills and knowledge do you possess that are relevant to the aerospace industry such as experience with aircraft design avionics propulsion systems or other aerospace technologies
  3. Are you familiar with any industryspecific regulations standards or certifications such as AS9100 FAA regulations or ISO standards and how have you applied these in your previous work

Description:
As part of a small passionate and accomplished team of experts you will perform handson assembly and maintenance of cuttingedge rocket engine turbomachinery. You will share in the teams impact on all aspects of Turbopump assembly disassembly testing and tool/fixture design. You will also provide critical feedback to make improvements concerning process control capability and repeatability.
Special Mentions
  • Shifts available: Weekday Nights Monday Thursday (3:00 pm 1:30 am).
  • This position is Monday Thursday and is scheduled for 40 hours but the employee will receive a $1.50 per hour night shift pay uplift.
  • Will need to be able to train on a normal day shift (Monday Friday) for at least 3 months.)
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Precision assembly of rocket engines
  • Detailed component inspection using calipers micrometers etc. to tolerances of 0.0001
  • Coordinating hardware processing such as inspection cleaning and shipping
  • Hardware management under critical cleanliness requirements (liquid oxygen service)
  • Safely working with hazardous systems containing chemicals and/or highpressure
  • Assist engineers in reviewing design concepts providing feedback for improvements
  • Familiarity working with assembly fixture tooling
  • Review and follow work instructions for complex mechanical installations
  • Innovate to improve processes and increase the efficiency of operations

Minimum Qualifications
  • 3 years of experience with the assembly of turbomachinery/propulsion systems aircraft or automotive engines or other highly technical machinery.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings.
  • Ability to read and understand technical manuals/detailed work instructions.
  • Strong mechanical competence with the ability to use hand and power tools.
  • Ability to accurately use precision measurement and inspection tools
  • Demonstrated troubleshooting and problemsolving skills.
  • Ability to earn trust maintain positive and professional relationships and contribute to a culture of inclusion.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder) or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
Physical Requirements:
  • Climb ladders & stairs and be able to lift up to 50 lbs. for limited durations of time.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 5 years experience in propulsion assembly integration and testing.
  • Associate degree in a technical field.
  • Knowledge of precision inspection equipment.
  • Experience with critical sealing surface requirements.
  • Experience with thread insert installation and thread tapping tools.
  • A&P license or equivalent experience in integration and test of propulsion systems.
  • Experience operating heavy lifting equipment such as overhead cranes and forklifts on flight hardware.
  • Experience with 3D measurement tools such as Faro Arms/Trackers and Verisurf software.
  • Knowledge in the use of 3D CAD tools (CREO is preferred) and ability to read and interpret GD&T per ASME Y14.5M1994 standard.
