Position Description
A Transport Cost Analyst ensures adequate cost reservations for train truck or barge transport costs in our operating systems and secures the correct matching of these with the actual costs received.
A Transport Cost Analyst acts as a liaison between suppliers and cost owners and work closely with trade management and other relevant functions and teams to ensure the cost are correctly monitored exceptions timely raised and at the same time looking continuously to improve the process.
Specific tasks and responsibilities
Entry of cost agreement in the operation system.
Secure correct cost reservation on order level.
Ensure orders are updated with actual costs before monthend deadline.
Advise cost owner/manager and trades on cost accruals for costs which are not reserved on order level (e.g. storage) on a monthly level.
Flag discrepancies on invoices to cost owner.
Communication with internal stakeholders from the operation teams to validate. data from the invoice specifications and the KPI reporting.
Communication with suppliers in case of discrepancies and take measure to minimize discrepancies on future invoices.
Invoice check before approval by cost owner.
Maintain monthly KPI reports that serve as primary data source for validating invoices: volumes utilization ADR any other cost related metrics.
Knowledge and Skills
Good analytical skills.
Preferably with good number literacy.
Solid Excel knowledge.
Accurate in the execution of tasks.
Ability to process and identify discrepancies in large quantity of data.
Competent in the use of computers systems and a good understanding of electronic media distribution.
Fluent in English both verbally and in writing.
Education and Experience
A bachelors degree.
Experience in international transport is nice to have.
One year experience in a similar job.
