SENIOR MECHANICAL SUPPORT ENGINEER
Our Client based in Croydon are looking to hire a Senior Mechanical Support Engineer on a permanent basis. They are a leading manufacturing company for a number of industries including Transport and Automotive.
Senior Mechanical Support Engineer Package:
Up to 50k (dependant on experience)
36.5 working week
Permanent full time role
Annual bonus (pro rata on year of joining)

In the Senior Mechanical Support Engineer role you will be primarily responsible to provide an additional input to the engineering team with regards to technical knowledge experience and assurance. Including:
Support the business from a handson engineering perspective to include:
o BoM sign off
o condition assessments
o engineering changes
o preparation for FAIs
o fault investigation and diagnosis
o warranty claim investigation
o creating method statements
o report compilation and reviewing
o design tooling
Manage warranty investigations as required including conducting the investigation interacting with customers and suppliers writing the investigation report drawing conclusions on the failure making recommendations for followup actions and ensuring actions are implemented/ carried out.
Produce technical reports in accordance with company/client requirements.
Create engineering change and concession / Production Permit requests as required. Manage the document and issue to conclusion as required.
Provide engineering expertise for the company in the analysis and signing of concessions and engineering changes.
Produce Method statements and Test procedures as required.
Senior Mechanical Support Engineering Experience / Qualifications
Experienced engineer with (as a minimum) a HNC/HND qualification (or equivalent) in a mechanically biased engineering discipline.
A minimum of 10 years professional engineering experience
Knowledge of various industries ranging from Mobility (Rail and Marine) to the Power Oil and Gas sectors is advantageous
Knowledge of mechanical driveline and connecting products and systems (gearboxes cardan shafts highly flexible couplings rail couplers cooler groups etc) is advantageous but not essential
Knowledge/ use of CAD packages such as Siemens NX and Autodesk Inventor is advantageous.
Knowledge of technical drawings (including BS8888 symbology / standards) design principles and ability to review design proposals is advantageous.
