About SiPearl

Founded in 2019 and financed by the European Union SiPearl embodies Europes dream of mastering the technological heart of its supercomputers: the microprocessor.

SiPearl is building Rhea the worlds first energyefficient #HPCdedicated microprocessor designed to work with any thirdparty accelerator (#GPU #AI #quantum). It will help Europe solving major challenges in medical research artificial intelligence security energy management and climate while reducing its environmental footprint.

Since our creation in 2019 we host 170 collaborators in 6 offices:

• France (MaisonsLaffitte Massy Grenoble Sophia Antipolis)
• Germany (Duisburg)
• Spain (Barcelona).

After a successful series A in 2023 (90M ) SiPearl has recently won an emblematic contract to equip Europes first exascale supercomputer JUPITER owned by EuroHPC and operated by Jlich Forschungszentrum (Germany). And as the dream of a European machine crossing the 1 billion billion mark calculations per second thanks to an European microprocessor is becoming reality SiPearl is willing to hire 150 engineers by the end of 2024!

About the role:

Under the supervision of the System and Software Architecture Team Leader and in collaboration with the members of the System and Software Architecture team as well as partners and clients the System Architects objective is to prepare and ensure the integration of SiPearl microprocessors at both software and hardware levels with other constituent components (BMC Accelerators Operating Systems Applications) of an HPC server.

The System Architect is also involved in collaborative and partnership projects.

Activities and Tasks:

Collaborate with clients and partners to define the integration framework of SiPearl microprocessors at the level of an HPC node or Data Center.
Clearly identify the main data flows and bandwidth requirements on SiPearl microprocessors interfaces.
Ensure compliance and stability of these interfaces throughout the processor lifecycle especially during software updates.
Collaborate with the Project Office to assess development costs (software manufacturing) specific to the proposed architecture.
Define and prepare proof of concept to validate architecture hypotheses.
Prepare and involve SiPearl architects partners and clients in joint working sessions (workshops).
Develop and maintain system specifications usable by partners or clients.Regularly contribute qualitatively and quantitatively to collaborative projects at the European level (EuroHPC EPI).

What Will Help You Succeed in This Role:

Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar position as System Architect or in a Software Architect role.
HPC experience: multicore architecture mesh network low latency high bandwidth interfaces benchmarking troubleshooting security integration.Project management.

Technical Skills:

Proficiency in English in an international environment.
Proficiency in programming languages (C C other necessary languages).
Proficiency in Gitlab Polarion PlantUML tools
Knowledge of server hardware interfaces (SPI I2C DDR HBM PCIe).Good knowledge of server protocols (RedFish IPMI PSCI SCMI PLDM).
Good knowledge of software development for Linux and Windows.Good understanding of security constraints.
Ability to debug effectively identify root causes and solve problems concerning multiple subsystems.
Ability to benchmark HPC system performance.
