About the role: Responsible for developing strategic policies and operational plans for safe airfield and aircraft operations. Comprehensively managing the day-to-day management of airside operational safety and compliance as well as the inspection and enforcement regime for aerodrome safety rules and polices. Key responsibilities • Leading the day-to-day management of airfield operations team, coordinating with PM/CMs and Contractors to ensure all works continue without delay while safety and compliance levels are not jeopardized. • Set targets for the team and develop training plans to meet the needs of a future promotion and succession plan • Work closely with all departments, AOCC, S&P, TOPS to ensure smooth operations and contribute in the On-Time Performance of Qatar Airways. • Support Aerodrome Compliance in maintaining the Certification criteria of both HIA and DIA, work closely on corrective action plans and ensure the Airfield team is up to speed with the latest regulatory requirements. Overall, maintain watch and control of all Airfield Operations teams and responsibilities. • Develop establish and operate a comprehensive Occurrence Reporting and Investigation regime in accordance to ICAO Safety Management principles including statistical trend analysis and target level setting. • Comprehensively plan and develop the process for timely, safe, and reliable delivery of Follow-Me and marshalling services to arriving aircraft including the constant adjustment of resources to traffic growth and mix. • Establish a robust process for managing safe operations during construction to minimise safety and operational impact during airside construction activities. • Develop rules and regulation for the safe use of the airport applicable for internal and external stakeholders. • Participate in the planning and design process of major extensions of the airside infrastructure ensuring that safety and regulatory requirements are being met and adequate capacity is provided to meet current and future demand of the business. • Contribute to new airfield planning and development project and modifications to ensure that safety standards are maintained and operational requirements are met. • Conduct risk assessments for specific airside activities, new procedures or infrastructure developments and develop mitigation measures for identified risks. • Leads Accident and Incident Investigations and analyse corrective/ preventive action effectiveness. • Liaise with the Wildlife Hazard Manager on wildlife hazard management responsibilities for monitoring safety standards. • Manage the Follow-Me and Marshaller team and establish procedures and rules for aircraft leader van guidance on taxiways and stand entry marshalling as well as establishing rules and procedures for non-standard parking and physical constraints for aircraft stand compatibility. • Working effectively together with concerned stakeholders to develop corrective action after safety incidents or identified non-compliance and to supervised their implementation and measure effectiveness. • Perform other department duties related to his/her position as directed by the Head of the Department
