Infrastructure Engineer DevOps AWS K8s

We are looking for a skilled Infrastructure Engineer with experience in AWS and Kubernetes.

Help us migrate some of our infrastructure technologies and services running on AWS to Kubernetes.

We are looking for cooperation on a longterm basis.

Luigis Box is a SaaS (Software as a Service) solution providing site search and product discovery tools for ecommerce websites.

These tools are: analytics search product listing and recommender. They ensure that ecommerce sites deliver fast relevant and personalized results for every query.

Luigis Box increases conversions and sales for more than 3000 eshops including Alza Benu O2 Acer Kosik Under Armour Orsay KiK and other big names. 50% of eshops in the CZ/SK market are already using Luigis Box we are expanding in Poland DACH and into the EU .

Your Infrastructure team is led by highly experienced CTO and cofounder Tom (aka Kremso). The closest colleagues and our infrastructure ninjas are Pali Head of Infrastructure and another Tom Senior Infrastructure Engineer. Mentoring from seniors mutual support daily meetings and feedback are part of our culture.

Tasks

What you will do

Luigis Box handles millions of requests every day. Our customers expect us to deliver technological perfection with no downtime using technologies that meet their needs.

You will be the third member of the team responsible for data infrastructure which we run on the AWS cloud. Your first larger task will be to help us shape the future of infrastructure at Luigis Box by migrating parts of our stack running on AWS to the new Kubernetes cluster.

This task will take several months maybe a year. Later on we expect you to help with the longterm management performance security observability and general maintenance of all of our infrastructure. The number of customers and requests is growing constantly and our infrastructure needs adjusting to remain efficient and meet the needs of our customers.

Other tasks may include:

• Capacity planning infrastructure scaling launching and decommissioning infrastructure
• Elasticsearch cluster management automation of administrative tasks
• Aiding in launching new services
• Identifying problems and possible technological improvements
• Monitoring services and alert settings documentation of processes playbooks creation
• Working hand in hand with search recommendation and product team to bring out best in our services in terms of stability reliability resiliency and performance
• Participation in oncall rotation

Requirements

• Being comfortable with UNIX toolchain basic networking concepts shell scripting and automation
• Proficiency in Ruby or Python or other objectoriented programming language and willingness to learn something new
• Handson experience in deploying managing and scaling applications on Kubernetes
• Knowledge of our basic stack which includes Terraform Ansible PostgreSQL Redis Memcached and AWS managed services such as Lambda CloudWatch Kinesis and S3
• Experiences in running ElasticSearch in production workloads
• Being comfortable helping with paying down our technical debts just as well as dreaming and creating for the future
• Fluent English and comfortability with writing down concepts explanations and documentation

About you

• You should have a midlevel experience so you wont be surprised by what is required from production deployment or established product
• Be the person we want to work with on Monday morning or Friday afternoon (we will do the same). It means you really like the job take initiative and do what is required without being told.
• You are able to work autonomously and to find effective solutions independently
• Ownership. You own your tasks with diligence and reliability.
• Team player. You understand that its not about you. Its about the customer getting a smooth service from the Luigis Box team.
