Job Description

Job Details
Shift: Days 8 hours 6am2:30pm Monday to Friday 40hrs/week
Work Location: Onsite; Palo Alto CA

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Assists with the training and orientation of new staff.
  • Builds case carts for basic surgical procedures with a fill accuracy rate of 100% as verified by department audits and/or observation of Lead/Supervisor.
  • Conforms to standard procedures and methods used to store and distribute supplies within the applicable Federal State and other regulatory agencies including Joint Commission AAMI and AORN.
  • Demonstrates the ability to assess identify and respond to urgent or stat request in an efficient effective and appropriate manner. Seeks resources for direction when necessary.
  • Ensures the prudent use of resources and efficiently maintains inventory.
  • Inventories and restocks surgical suites and surgical core supplies.
  • Is willing to participate in ongoing inservices training and on the job training.
  • Maintains a professional work environment; keeps work area clean and organized. Practices good time management. Maintains professional behavior and appearance. Promotes a positive work environment by practicing good communication diversity awareness and teamwork.
  • Maintains acceptable attendance and punctuality per department policy.
  • Manages information utilizing appropriate manual or electronic systems for shift work activity. Reports any discrepancies or unusual activity to the Lead and/or Supervisor.
  • Performs breakout of sterile product utilizing sound practices that protect the integrity of the sterile packages.
  • Performs duties by following the policy and procedures of SUMC and LPCH and the Surgical Materials Department. Works collaboratively with peers to achieve department goals and organizations vision.
