Role overview

We are looking for a Senior BI Engineer with strong handson technical skills to join our team. You will work closely with the Head of Architecture and Data to set up the technology stack design the data storage implement processes and collaborate across the group to transform data into insights that drive business value. As part of a small team you will report to our Head of Architecture and Data and be prepared to work autonomously where required.

This is a handson and varied role which offers a good opportunity for you to develop your career in a supportive environment. We operate a hybridremote model allowing you to work anywhere in the UK while attending the office as required on average 2 days per week.

As aSenior BI Engineerat Next15 you will:

  • Develop implement and maintain our groups Business Intelligence Data Architecture in Microsoft Azure; with a focus on supporting the groups growth and transformation through improved data insight and actions
  • Operate across the range of Business Data Applications and Technology lenses with a wide remit including roadmaps integrations and both inhouse and external services
  • Work closely with the ERP teams Infrastructure & Operations team Project Management team and business representatives

You will bring:

  • Degree in computer science or ITrelated subject with a professional background in software development
  • At least 4 years of data engineering experience including ETL Datawarehouse experience and related technologies advanced SQL programming skills data visualisation tools such as Power BI and UI design and UX
  • Experience mentoring and coaching junior team members in technical and data architecture
  • Experienced in balancing BAU service delivery with project requirements
  • Experience supporting customisation and application development in IT systems
  • Excellent knowledge of the software development lifecycle including requirement analysis quality assurance design scheduling implementation issue tracking version control and deployment
  • Experience in secure coding practices and security by design
  • Familiarity with SaaS; IaaS; PaaS (Software Infrastructure Platforms) Cloud Solutions (Azure) Data Storage Technology (Cosmos HADOOP & NOSQL)
  • Experience of KPIs SLAs and service management
