Job Description

Are you an experienced Rigging TD/Artist seeking a new opportunity to tackle professionally challenging projects involving a diverse range of artistic styles every month? Are you also a digital nomad seeking freelance work from anywhere? If so, we may have the ideal position for you! Join our team as a freelancer and collaborate on renowned projects like Assassin's Creed, Halo, Dune, and Love, Death & Robots!

Our moderately-sized Rigging team consists of 9-12 colleagues, although they are currently all located in Hungary. Despite working mainly remotely since the pandemic, they maintain regular communication via Discord, ensuring you won't feel isolated even if you work remotely. Please note that we are advertising this role as we are building our freelancer pipeline for the future but at the moment we are not actively hiring.

Does this sound like the opportunity you've been waiting for? Then you might be wondering, "What's in it for me?" Here's what we offer:

  • A competitive salary package payable in EUR, USD, or HUF
  • The chance to work on Hollywood films shot in Hungary and contribute to some of the biggest blockbusters and games
  • A wide variety of projects as we frequently outsource our services, collaborating with industry giants in gaming and film
  • Full remote work flexibility from anywhere in the world
  • Your own flexible schedule, with the recommendation of working 1-2 hours in the CEE time zone for any potential IT issues that may arise
  • Remote access to our computer with our software suite

What You'll Be Doing and Why You'll Enjoy It:

  • Meet with humans, animals, monsters, and other fictional characters.
  • Build puppet, face, deformation, mechanical, and simulation rigs (including hair, cloth, and muscles).
  • Troubleshoot and fix rig issues, collect artistic feedback and fine-tune rig behavior.
  • Play with Maya, Houdini, and Unreal Engine.
  • Write gorgeous Python scripts.
  • Work within our streamlined Digic pipeline and rigging standards.

To Be a Top Candidate, You Should Possess:

  • Strong Maya and Houdini skills
  • Minimum 3 years of production experience as a character rigger
  • A blend of teamwork and the ability to work autonomously – you may need to pick up where others left off or solve problems independently
  • The ability to meet deadlines (tasks can range from 2 hours to 10 days in duration, depending on complexity)
  • Fluency in English OR Hungarian

Nice to Haves:

  • Marvelous Designer experience

Where You'll Be Working:

DIGIC is a 20-year-old, Annie Award-winning animation studio based in Hungary that has made its reputation with its high-end 3D animation for feature films, and commercials, within the video game industry.

DIGIC is best known for creating fine details and realistic characters as well as world-class rendering in the production of animated shorts.

Join DIGIC, a company with extensive in-house mocap experience spanning tens of thousands of hours, and become a part of our team.
