Requirements
Utilise investigative and analytical skills to uncover financial discrepancies fraud and misconduct within an organization or during legal proceedings. This is crucial role in identifying financial irregularities providing expert testimony and assisting in legal proceedings by presenting financial evidence.
Financial Analysis: Conduct thorough examinations of financial records transactions and documents to identify discrepancies irregularities or fraudulent activities.
Fraud Detection: Utilise accounting principles and investigative techniques to detect and prevent fraud including asset misappropriation financial statement fraud and schemes.
Analyse and reconcile claim to final calculation.
Analyse sales production and other accounting data
Evaluate insurance claims and economic damage.
Work closely with senior staff on litigation cases first party property business valuations.
Investigative Procedures: Conduct interviews interrogations and data analysis to gather evidence and support findings related to financial investigations.
Documentation: Prepare detailed reports documenting findings analysis and conclusions reached during forensic examinations ensuring accuracy and clarity.
Expert Testimony: Provide expert testimony in legal proceedings presenting complex financial information in a clear and understandable manner to support case arguments.
Collaboration: Collaborate with law enforcement agencies legal teams auditors and other stakeholders to facilitate investigations and resolve financial disputes.
Compliance: Ensure compliance with applicable laws regulations and industry standards related to financial reporting fraud prevention and forensic accounting practices.
Continuous Learning: Stay abreast of emerging trends techniques and technologies in forensic accounting and fraud investigation to enhance skills and knowledge.
Risk Assessment: Assess organizational vulnerabilities and recommend proactive measures to mitigate the risk of financial fraud and misconduct.
Ethical Standards: Adhere to ethical standards and professional codes of conduct maintaining integrity and impartiality throughout all stages of forensic accounting engagements.
Candidate requirements.
At least 3 years of relevant experience in Forensic Accounting.
Education: Bachelors degree in accounting finance or related field; advanced degree or certification (e.g. Certified Fraud Examiner ACA Chartered Accountant) preferred.
Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and identify patterns or anomalies indicative of fraud.
Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to convey findings effectively present evidence and interact with diverse stakeholders.
Legal Knowledge: Familiarity with legal principles procedures and regulations relevant to forensic accounting and litigation support.
Technology Proficiency: Proficiency in accounting software data analysis tools and forensic investigation software to analyse financial data and detect fraud efficiently.
Attention to Detail: Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy in reviewing financial documents transactions and records.
Integrity: High ethical standards integrity and discretion in handling sensitive financial information and investigations.
