Job Description

Job Title: EL/PL Claims Handler Personal Injury

Reporting To: Supervisor

Department: Defendant Personal Injury

Job Summary:

We are a modern dynamic law firm committed to providing a diverse range of commercial services to clients ranging from individual entrepreneurs and small family businesses to some of the UKs most successful companies and renowned brands. We are currently seeking a motivated and experienced EL/PL Claims Handler to join our busy team in defending Personal Injury claims at our modern Bradford city center office.

Main Duties & Responsibilities:

Under the guidance of your Supervisor your responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting the defense of EL/PL claims for Personal Injury from the claims initiation up to but not including litigation with a preference for a retail focus.
  • Utilizing the MOJ EL/PL Portal effectively.
  • Handling communication with opponents experts statutory bodies and clients via email telephone and written correspondence.
  • Negotiating on matters of liability and quantum.
  • Pursuing recovery of client losses from third parties where appropriate.
  • Maintaining accurate financial reserve and risk management information on all claims.
  • Adhering to internal client and procedural protocols.
  • Ensuring personal objectives are reviewed and met.
  • Developing strong relationships with existing and potential clients prioritizing high standards of client care.
  • Providing excellent customer service to litigants in person.
  • Staying informed about relevant legislation and practice.
  • Participating actively in marketing initiatives alongside the Department Head and Fee Earners from other departments.
  • Complying with SRA/Law Society Regulations.
  • Performing duties with consideration for the firms Equality & Diversity Policy.


Requirements

Key Requirements:

  • Minimum 13 years of experience as a Claims Handler
  • Excellent communication organisation and IT skills
  • Enthusiastic and eager to learn
  • Handson feeearning role
