Position Overview: As the Chief Legal and Compliance Officer your primary focus will be leading a team of legal professionals and providing expert guidance on legal regulatory M&A and compliance matters. We seek an experienced and comfortable leader who can oversee the teams performance conduct strategic legal initiatives and ensure compliance with data protection including European GDPR.

Responsibilities:

As Chief Legal and Compliance Officer your broad responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

Regulatory Compliance:

• Ensure full compliance with local and international regulators covering Marketing Affiliate and General Compliance.
• Guarantee operations comply with local regional and international iGaming laws and regulations.

Contract Management:

• Draft review and negotiate various contracts including licensing supplier and partnership agreements.
• Mitigate legal risks and provide guidance on contract terms and conditions.

Risk Mitigation and Advisory:

• Stay updated on iGaming laws and regulations advising the company on necessary adjustments for compliance.
• Exhibit a businessoriented mindset that balances risk considerations aiming to find innovative solutions while contributing to strategic goals.

Policy Development and Implementation:

• Develop and implement company policies and procedures to ensure ethical and legal conduct.
• Collaborate with the Data Protection Officer (DPO) to ensure compliance with data protection and privacy laws including GDPR.

License Acquisition and Maintenance:

• Manage the acquisition and renewal of iGaming licenses from regulatory authorities globally.
• Ensure consistent adherence to all license conditions and requirements.

Relationship Management:

• Establish and maintain positive relationships with regulatory bodies.
• Collaborate with external legal counsel for legal disputes litigation and arbitration proceedings.

Intellectual Property Protection:

• Protect the companys intellectual property trademarks and patents.

Team Leadership and Development:

• Lead and mentor a team of legal professionals including inhouse counsel and legal support.
• Incorporate automated processes to enhance operational efficiency and optimise workflow procedures.

Legal Function Oversight:

• Provide training and support to stakeholders on various legal issues relevant to the business.

Requirements:

• Experience in multiple licensing processes with iGaming Operator platform provider or similar is required.
• Master of Laws (LL.M.) from a European university.
• Substantial professional background with a minimum of a decade in the workforce and several years of experience as inhouse counsel.
• Expertise in regulatory matters.
• Familiarity with Trademark IP law and contract law.
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects in an intense fastpaced environment.
• Excellent communication skills to present complex issues at all organisational levels.
• Excellent command of the English language; proficiency in other languages is considered an asset.
