We are looking fora Pipeline and Compression Engineer with a positive and tenacious personality to work closely with our technology departments on creative and optimized designs of the pipeline transmission and distribution system of CWPs multi Gigawatt scale green hydrogen projects.

You will be responsible for developing the conceptual design and optimization of a very largescale pipeline and compression systems for hydrogen or its derivates from electrolysis facilities to downstream plants such as ammonia production and harbor facilities. Your responsibilities include water pipelines from freshwater reservoirs or desalination facilities to electrolysis plants and the conceptual design of all related cooling and corrosion protection.


Within CWP you will be the only and single expert on all pipeline related technologyand be the focal point for all pipeline related matters. You will be involved in activities starting fromvery preliminary and early stage modelling until in a few years the support of a detailed design in the FEED phase in partnership with external consultants whose input you will oversee.


Your main responsibilities include but are not limited to! the following:

  • Technical and commercial evaluation of emerging technologies in the field of pipeline and compressorrelated technology
  • Contribution to the projects feasibility preFeed and FEED
    (Frontendengineering & design) studies


  • Support the creation and improvementof CWPs digitals twin software by close collaboration with inter disciplinary engineering colleagues
  • process calculation and modeling


  • Collaboration with suppliers for pipelines and compressors and technical support in contract negotiations
  • Identification of localization potential and support of initial designs of local factories and/or local assembly
  • Contribution to our Risk Assessment / HAZOP / FMEA /ESIA
  • Collaboration with external consultants and technology suppliers
  • Participation in fairs and conferences
  • contributing to the refinement of our digital twin on the project level.
  • Liaise with different teams to ensure technical progress is met.

Who you are:

Mandatory

  • Technical University degree in e.g. engineering or physics
  • Minimum five years in the pipeline or compressor industry
  • Excellent technological understanding of pipeline and compressor design and technology and related practical experience in largescale projects ideally in challenging environments such as deserts.
  • Deep understanding of related industry practice and engineering standards.
  • Experience and basic understanding of commercial and technical contracts and negotiations.
  • Selfmotivation paired with the ability to work independently and with remotely located teams of different cultures.
  • Experience and understanding of project and stakeholder management
  • Ability to manage budgets and timelines on projects effectively
  • Can develop tasks and prioritize while being involved in numerous assignments during the same period
  • Ability to communicate effectively with the project team and external stakeholders.
  • Good presentation skills.
  • High work ethic and ability to work with sensitive and confidential information
  • Availability and willingness to travel internationally also to remote project locations in Africa and other continents (in peak times up to 25% of the working time)
  • Computer skills: Work freely with office software tools and technologyspecific suits such as Hysis Aspen or Unisim.
  • Excellent written and oral command of English to communicate with technical and nontechnical colleagues and external partners.

  • unrestricted residence permit in teh European Union

    Nice to have
  • Knowledge of an additional language such asFrench Spanish or Arabic is a plus
  • Experience with an international business environment
  • Prompt engineering and proficient use of the latest AI engines (Chat GPT for example)
  • Knowledge of Python coding
  • Knowledge of database (SQL MySQL PostgreSQL)
