The Assistant Director is responsible for overall management and delivery of residential services as outlined by the contract sources including program plan development case management counseling services community referrals and onsite programming. The Assistant Director is also required to provide full assistance to the Facility Director in determining administrative and programmatic needs and implementing such activities that will benefit the organization and contribute toward residential and rehabilitative services.
Parameters of the Position:
Work is performed under the supervision of the Facility Director who relies on the Assistant Director to independently plan and execute a broad range of correctional programs within a general policy framework established by the President and contract source. The Assistant Director receives direction on policy matters and in an advisory role contributes major input to the development of reentry programs appropriate to the needs of the returning citizens. Work is reviewed through informal meetings reports and audits and is evaluated on the basis of adherence to policy effectiveness and efficiency of program activities resident participation in programs returning citizens/clients services and the utilization of volunteers.
The Assistant Director must:
Have the ability to prioritize and make decisions based on mature judgment in the daytoday operations of the Residential Reentry Center.
Be able to assist in the facilitys operation to meet program goals and objectives appropriate to the needs of the returning citizens and the contracting source.
Demonstrate a professional knowledge of the principles methods and techniques of community correctional management as outlined by the American Correctional Association (ACA) standards with demonstrated ability to function in a mature and intelligent manner during crisis situations. Become the onsite expert in SecurManage System be responsible for assisting in the overall management of the SecurManage System extract reports and monitor the quality of data input by staff members to ensure adherence to contractor requirements
Education:
Bachelors (Required)
Experience:
criminal justice: 5 years (Required)
supervisory: 2 years (Required)

Employees assigned to this position must satisfy all requirements under the contracts with applicable federal state and local government agencies. All employees must pass an NCIC criminal record background check after a conditional offer of employment. Each employee will be fingerprinted by the Bureau of Prisons staff and/or a designee and is subject to investigation.
