Staff Recruiter
The Staff Recruiter is responsible for the full life cycle recruiting process to meet hiring goals by filling open non-attorney professional staff positions throughout the firm with qualified candidates. This entails sourcing and screening candidates, coordinating the interview process, and facilitating offers and employment negotiations, all while ensuring candidates have a pleasant experience. The Staff Recruiter will assist the Human Resources team in performing other related duties that directly support the strategic objectives of the department.
Responsibilities
- Collaborates with hiring managers to develop effective recruiting strategies utilizing knowledge of firm business, structure, and culture to address talent shortages
- Creates job postings and recruitment advertisements
- Posts positions in internal and external job sites
- Executes full-cycle recruiting identifying, sourcing and engaging candidates using a variety of search methods to include community services, colleges, employment agencies, recruiters, media, and internet sites to build a robust candidate pipeline
- Builds networks to find qualified active and passive candidates. Abide by new and existing staffing contract procedures.
- Effectively screens candidates by reviewing resumes and/or applications
- Conducts phone interviews to determine skills and fit in relation to role requirements
- Provides organization and benefit information to maintain rapport with candidates
- Performs required pre-employment skills testing
- Serves as the primary contact for the candidate throughout the full recruitment process
- Utilizes recruitment platform to move candidate through the recruitment process; keeping candidate records and status updated in system
- Advises hiring managers on the status of their open positions by providing timely updates and reports
- Schedules and coordinates interviews with hiring managers; guides manager through firm’s hiring process
- Ensures fair and competitive compensation offers, seeking guidance on compensation market data
- Facilitates the offer process by extending employment offers and negotiating terms; provides basic benefits information to candidates
- Initiates and manages the background check process with vendor; performs reference checks as needed
- Assists with the onboarding and new hire process
- Implements best practice recruiting strategies, staying abreast of recruiting trends and methodologies
- Coordinates the employee referral incentive program
- Ensures recruitment process is performed in accordance with employment laws and regulations
- Works with outside recruitment firms on selected searches as needed
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field
- 3 years of recruiting experience in a professional work environment; prior law firm experience preferred.
- Working knowledge of applicant tracking and HRIS systems
- Working knowledge of interview techniques and applicant screening methods
- Deep understanding of employment laws and regulations
- Familiar with a wide variety of sourcing avenues to include social media
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
- Demonstrated ability to establish effective and cooperative working relationships built on trust
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of personnel records and information
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
