Job Summary Description
The Project Manager s primary responsibility involves project planning, management, execution, and financial management of CIPP rehabilitation projects and related work. The project manager develops the initial project scope, schedule, and plan for execution of the project work and then subsequently oversees, manages, and monitors progress, both from a production, scheduling, and financial perspective. He/she provides direct support to the field crews, both internally and for subcontractors, and serves as the Company s primary contact with owners, engineering companies, and subcontractors. This role will have an emphasis on business development as well as customer relations.
Essential Job Accountabilities
- Complete project responsibility including overall project financial management from original budget setup to final project close-out and including invoicing and collection of payments from the client.
- Initial job site reviews
- Plan take-offs and quantity verification
- Cost estimating
- Client and agency interaction
- Subcontractor selection and management
- Securing necessary permits
- Quality control oversight
- Project and crew scheduling
- Project safety in accordance with companys policies and procedures
Requirements
Basic Qualifications and Skills:
- Four-year college degree preferred and/or 5 years experience in construction management OR engineering; experience with underground water or sewer construction and/or trenchless rehabilitation is preferred. Municipal contract management experience highly desired.
- 5 years experience in construction management OR engineering; experience with underground water or sewer construction and/or trenchless rehabilitation
- Ability to understand contracts, plans, specifications, and regulations.
- Must have exceptional business development and client relationship-building skills.
- Ability to be flexible and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to be decisive and work well under pressure, particularly when faced with unexpected occurrences or delays.
- Ability to coordinate several major activities at once while analyzing and resolving specific problems.
- Ability to operate with a sense of urgency and competency on all projects and tasks.
- Must be familiar with computers and software programs for job costing, online collaboration, scheduling, and estimating.
- Good oral and written communication and leadership skills.
- Must be able to establish a good working relationship with many different people, including owners, subcontractors, vendors, other managers, supervisors, and craft workers.
Physical Demands
- Must be able to work in an office as well as a field type setting.
- Must be able to work in adverse weather conditions (heat, cold, rain, etc.)
- Must be able to work overtime when required.
- Must be willing and able to travel.
Additional Requirements/Skills
- Knowledge and ability to schedule and manage multiple internal crews and subcontractors performing multiple tasks.
- Must be self-motivated and possess a positive attitude conducive to working with field and office personnel.
- Must be able effectively communicate in both verbally and in written form in English and have and have advanced computer knowledge including:
- Microsoft Word
- Microsoft Excel
- Microsoft Outlook
- Microsoft Project
- Must have ability to learn and comprehend company and job specific software and submittal needs.
- Must possess valid driving license and have a driving record consistent with the Company s requirements.
- Must work in a manner that will not jeopardize the health and safety of him/herself, other employees, or the public.
- Must hold in regard the Company s best interest and look for opportunities to improve the profitability of projects while maintaining high levels of quality, safety and customer satisfaction
