Physicist

PHYSICIST (Permanent)
Our client, an established manufacturing company with its US headquarters in WNY, is looking to hire a Physicist to join their team. This is a newly created position due to growth.

Responsibilities:

• Perform extensive research into various areas including, but not limited to, mechanics, nuclear materials, light, heat, and radiation
  
• Perform research, analyze data, develop theories, and conduct experiments to lead the development of new products and technologies
  
• Develop and implement procedures for the testing of materials and analyze/document their physical properties
  
• Fully document observations and present findings
  
• Study the structure and properties of matter, and the transformation and propagation of energy
  
• Investigate problems as they arise and perform root cause analysis to determine the issue and how it can be resolved
  
• Evaluate laboratory practices and provide educated and proven modifications/improvements as needed
  
• Ensure all safety procedures are being followed to the highest standards
  
• Collaborate well with other departments to design and develop new experiments, procedures, and products
  
• Work well in a team environment as well as independently
  
• Complete special projects in a timely manner
  
• Other duties as assigned/as necessary
  

Details:

• Position is full time, direct hire
  
• M-F 8:00AM 5:00PM; 100% in-office
  
• Standard 40-hour workweek with minimal overtime
  
• $70,000 - $100,000 annually depending on experience

• PhD in Physics
  
• 4+ years experience as Physicist, preferably in a manufacturing/production environment
  
• Lean Six Sigma preferred
  
• Proficiency with computers and analytical software tools
  
• Must be able to wear PPE, including PAPR
  
• Great interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal)
  
• Strong organization skills, analytical, and time management skills
  
• Meticulous attention to detail
  
• Self-motivated
  
• Relocation not available
