Responsibilities:
- Ensure the delivery of highquality radiation therapy by participating in linear accelerator quality assurance treatment planning and consultation in accordance with AAPM standards.
- Communicate effectively with physicians radiation therapists dosimetrists office personnel and nurses to enhance patient care in radiation therapy.
- Provide technical support and skills for the adoption of new technology continually seeking opportunities to improve the delivery of physics and dosimetry support within the department.
- Maintain high standards of treatment delivery by ensuring quality assurance and calibration procedures for all radiation devices according to accepted protocols and standards of practice.
- Oversee physics treatment planning and radiation safety ensuring compliance with the Code of Conduct and compliance policies and address any compliance questions or concerns.
- Perform all physics responsibilities for the radiation therapy department requiring advanced knowledge acquired through specialized intellectual instruction and study specific to radiation physics.
- Review patient charts daily and weekly verifying the total delivered radiation dose in ARIA.
- Monitor treatment overrides and outstanding dose action points follow up as necessary complete electronic chart checks in ARIA and charge continuing medical physics.
- Calibrate therapy linear accelerators according to the AAPM TG51 protocol maintaining NIST traceable calibrations on all ionization chambers and electrometers used for absolute calibration.
- Adjust accelerator dose integrator boards to keep output within specifications.
- Perform monthly and annual quality assurance tests on medical linear accelerators according to AAPM protocols.
- Train and supervise physicists and dosimetrists who work in or rotate through the departments.
- Coordinate review and recommend actions on maintenance contracts and work with Varian on upgrades and equipment needs.
- Oversee and integrate with Information Systems on all software and treatment planning modalities.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

- 3 years experience including IMRT and SRS/SBRT
