Head of Engineering (FinTech)

Our client, a fintech platform that offers digital banking and financial solutions to individuals, is currently looking to hire a Head of Engineering to join their team in Nigeria. They provide an ecosystem of connected financial services that allows the customer complete control of their finances all in one App.

Job Type: Full Time | Remote

Requirements

• BS or MS in Computer Science or a related technical field, or equivalent experience
  
• 8+ years of experience building systems software engineering
  
• Team management experience
  
• Strong understanding of computer architecture and CS fundamentals
  
• Proficient in one of the following programming languages: Java, Go, Python, C/C++
  
• Detailed problem-solving approach
  
• Track record of projects completed on time - you are a self-starter & an executor who is results-oriented

Responsibilities

• Identify, prioritize and solve ongoing business requirements for a rapidly growing Digital Bank
  
• Gather and analyze information to generate actionable insights
  
• Support the business on go-to-market strategy for early concepts. From planning to implementation to delivery
  
• Monitor our external environment (e.g., market conditions, competitive pressures, regulatory landscape) and derive implications for the business
  
• Drive alignment on priorities across key business functions through our strategic planning.
  
• Craft, code, test, and launch new features
  
• Participate in brainstorming sessions and contribute ideas to our technology, algorithms, and products
  
• Dive into difficult problems and successfully deliver results on schedule
  
• Manage a team of engineers and help build the culture
