Job Title: HIL test engineer
Location: Auburn Hills, MI (Onsite)
Duration: Full time
Job Description:
Execution of various activities related to the design, development, and delivery of Hardware-in-loop (HIL) Virtual Simulation
platforms used for Propulsion System & EE development, testing, and validation:
1. Execute circuit/wiring upgrades within HIL systems
2. Build new wire harnesses and implement design changes to existing harnesses. Repair broken equipment(e.g.: HIL Wiring)
3. Prepare wire harness and load box kits based on HIL Hardware engineers' design
4. Commissioning of new harnesses and load boxes, assist HW Engineer in resolving HW related issues.
Qualifications
5+ years' experience with Bachelor's degree or 3+ years and Master's degree
Basic knowledge of electrical & electronics circuits and components
Ability to study & understand electrical & electronic schematic & layout
Exposure to electrical test equipment including but not limited to power supplies, multimeters, oscilloscopes, power analyzers etc.
Exposure to AutoCAD Electrical, or similar electrical CAD software
Exposure to automation in an industrial/manufacturing environment
Ability to be flexible and responsive
Good verbal communication skills
Preferred
Understanding of working principle of power electronic devices used in electric vehicle
Understanding of communication protocols like Automotive Ethernet, CAN, LIN etc.
Knowledge of safety and EMI requirements related to high power applications
Experienced/Understanding in Functional Testing, End of Line Testing etc.
Good software & hardware troubleshooting skills
Knowledge in processes like GR&R, Cpk etc.
Education
Minimum BE/BS in the areas of Electrical/ Instrumentation Engineering or comparable Engineering degree
