Job Description

Job Summary
Our Client is seeking a skilled Controls Engineer for a position in Orlando FL responsible for electrical and controls engineering on largescale projects. This role involves control system design electrical panel design risk assessment control system programming and installation/commissioning.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Design electrical/control systems from concept to completion.
  • Create detailed designs using drafting software (AutoCAD preferred).
  • Integrate systems with other project disciplines and optimize panel locations.
  • Manage vendor scope to ensure safety and contract compliance.
  • Ensure designs meet local government and client codes/standards.
  • Generate and implement technical risk assessments.
  • Design safetycritical parts and redundant mitigations for control systems.
  • Develop documents for system configuration including operation descriptions design descriptions and test plans.
  • Perform system design calculations/analysis including short circuit protection power consumption and safety system implementation.
  • Support system installation/commissioning including working offshifts if needed.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • 5 years of experience in control system design and implementation.
  • Knowledge of contract documents specifications and field data collection.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Windows and Office environments.
  • Experience with major industrial hardware/software (e.g. AllenBradley Siemens).
  • Familiarity with ethernetbased distributed remote I/O systems.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work in a multidisciplined environment.
  • Ability to travel up to 30%.

Physical Demands and Working Conditions:

  • Ability to see hear speak clearly and perform tasks requiring dexterity.
  • Ability to drive lift climb and maneuver equipment.
  • Work in standard office onsite and diverse industrial/construction environments.
  • Expected to be on client location 5 days a week.
