Staff Accountant - Risk Management
Location: Onsite - Las Vegas, Nevada
Salary Range: $78,996.00
Compensation Package: This position will receive an annual salary plus a strong benefits package including 9 weeks of vacation a year plus a pension.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
- 4 years of experience in the Accounting field
- Valid Driver's License

About the Role
This role will be responsible for all the accounting functions for the Risk Management division of the organization.
Responsibilities
- Implementing and monitoring accounting practices and procedures in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles and federal regulations to ensure consistency and accuracy of data.
- Advising administration on financial issues, such as effective use of resources and assumptions underlying budget forecasts.
- Reviews and interprets Governmental Accounting Standards Board (GASB) and Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB) bulletins; District, state, and federal regulations, policies, and procedures
- Reviewing and analyzing operations, cost trends, estimated and realized revenues, and obligations incurred to project future revenues and expenses
- Reviewing the Annual Comprehensive Financial Report (ACFR)
- Working with federal, state, and local governmental entities
- Development of inter-departmental systems activities which affect accounting reports, policies, procedures, and compliance.
- Analyzing the general ledger records, initiating appropriate adjustments, and ensures the timely reconciliation of receipts and disbursements with the Risk Management bank accounts.
- Facilitating year-end closing procedures and coordinating closing activities with all departments.
- Coordinating the reconciliation of the general ledger and the Risk Management budget with the Budget Department.
