We are hiring a senior accountant/accounting manager for a local CPA firm in West Mobile.
The senior accountants responsibilities include preparing financial reports performing account reconciliations maintaining the general ledger preparing tax returns isting with audit preparations and performing other accounting duties as igned.
To be successful as a senior accountant you should have a solid working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and strong financial ysis ss. An outstanding senior accountant should also possess strong Excel ss be detailoriented highly organized and able to work with little to no supervision and perform under pressure. Duties include
- Coordinating accounting functions and programs.
- Preparing financial yses and reports.
- isting with preparing and monitoring budgets.
- Maintaining and reconciling balance sheet and general ledger accounts.
- isting with annual audit preparations.
- Investigating and resolving audit findings account discrepancies and issues of noncompliance.
- Preparing federal state local and special tax returns.
- Contributing to the development of new or amended accounting systems programs and procedures.
- Performing other accounting duties and supporting junior staff as required or igned.
Requirements
Problem solving/critical thinking ss GAAP accounting practice knowledge Excellent verbal and written communication English as a first language not a requirement but a client must be able to very easily understand the candidate by phone. Also must be approachable enough for junior staff to come to when they have a question about how to handle an accounting situation then on

- 3 years of accounting experience and at least 2 of those years with a CPA firm
