The IDEAL School of Manhattan is seeking a talented, enthusiastic, and creative Spanish teacher for a full-time position available for immediate start.
IDEAL teachers are charged with inspiring students in an inclusive and nurturing learning community to achieve personal and academic excellence. IDEAL expands the definition of diversity to include ability, and thus candidates must demonstrate the ability to teach a range of learners and to scaffold lessons with note-taking guides, visual aids, and other supports to promote the success of a range of learners. IDEAL teachers inspire students in an inclusive learning community dedicated to nurturing and inspiring the whole child by ensuring that every child gets what they need to thrive.
The Spanish teacher will teach grades 6-12, in addition to participating in the life of the school, including prep periods, advisory, coverage and weekly faculty meetings. They must be able to develop curriculum in partnership with our Lower School Spanish teacher and teach in the target language as appropriate, including intermediate and advanced level course work. Verbal and written fluency is required.
The successful candidate will work effectively with students; partner thoughtfully with colleagues and parents; demonstrate the ability to connect with and support students at all levels; and possess a commitment to inclusive education.

Appreciation for the school s mission
A strong understanding of differentiation and the ability to connect with, support, and inspire students with and without disabilities
Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work well and collaborate on a team
Proven verbal and written fluency in Spanish, including advanced level coursework.
