Job Description
Join our team and support students in various school districts across Illinois.
The Special Education Teacher will work with students who have a range of learning emotional physical and developmental disabilities. This role involves creating and implementing individualized education programs (IEPs) collaborating with school staff and families and using effective teaching strategies to promote students academic and social growth.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create a supportive and structured classroom environment.
- Develop and implement IEPs tailored to each students needs.
- Maintain accurate records of students progress and IEP goals.
- Conduct assessments to determine students educational needs and progress.
- Modify curriculum and instruction methods to accommodate students varying needs.
- Provide emotional and social support to students promoting a positive learning experience.
- Work closely with general education teachers specialists and families to support students learning.
Requirements
- Valid Illinois teaching certification in Special Education.
- Strong communication organizational and collaboration skills.
- Bachelor s or Master s degree in Special Education or a related field.
- Prior experience working with children with special needs is preferred.
