MIS Solutions is seeking a highly skilled and motivated System Administrator to join our dynamic IT team. As a System Administrator, you will play a crucial role in maintaining and optimizing our partner's IT infrastructure, ensuring its reliability and security. Position: System Administrator Location: Cincinnati, OH Employment Type: Full-Time
Essential Duties and Responsibilities (other duties may be assigned to meet business needs):
1. Install, configure, and maintain servers, networks, and related hardware and software.
2. Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues proactively to ensure optimal performance and uptime.
3. Implement and maintain security measures to safeguard company data and systems from potential threats.
4. Manage user accounts, permissions, and access rights, ensuring data integrity and privacy.
5. Oversee system backups, disaster recovery, and business continuity plans.
6. Collaborate with the IT team to deploy and maintain software applications and updates.
7. Assist with the planning and execution of IT projects, including system upgrades and migrations.
8. Provide technical support to end-users and resolve IT-related problems in a timely manner.
9. Document system configurations, processes, and troubleshooting procedures.
10. Stay up to date with industry best practices and technologies to continually improve our IT infrastructure.
11. Make recommendations to purchase hardware, software, system components.
12. Interact, meet, discuss, and troubleshoot issues with vendors; evaluate vendor products, services, and suggestions.
13. Adhere to strict Information Systems security guidelines in all cases.
14. Travel when needed to support remote clients (less than 5% of the time)
Requirements:
1. Proven experience as a System Administrator or similar role.
2. Proficiency in managing Windows and/or Linux server environments.
3. Proficiency in using the Microsoft 365 Admin portal.
4. Solid understanding of network protocols, Transmission Control Protocol (TCP)/Internet Protocol (IP), Virtual Local Area Network (VLAN), Domain Name System (DNS), Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP), Firewalls, etc.
5. Familiarity with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V).
6. Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure).
7. Experience with VOIP platforms.
8. Experience with Cisco Meraki.
9. Strong knowledge of cybersecurity best practices and data protection.
10. Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to multi-task and work well under pressure.
11. Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
12. Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment.
13. Ability to lift 20 lbs. (some heavy lifting of equipment).
14. Relevant certifications such as CompTIA Server+, Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA), or Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) will be an advantage.
