Job Description
Currently looking for school counselor for upcoming year 2020-2021 this is for an amazing Elementary K-6 school. This position will be assisting in supporting the social and emotional needs of the student body along with the families and staff. This position will be collaborating with student, family and faculty to ensure that students needs are being met and school values are aligned with the mission statement of the school. This position will be working closely with ESE students to ensure that all social-emotional needs of the students and families, overseeing community outreach and service learning at being met. In addition, will help in developing the school’s core values and will work alongside a very collaborative leadership team to ensure the implementation of the school’s mission and strategic plan. Provide individual and small-group counseling to meet students’ developmental and emotional needs. Adhere to the schools Essential Expectations and Characteristics of Professional Excellence. Meet the needs of individual students by working closely with the faculty, parents, and the school’s instructional facilitators and student support teams.
Requirements:
Experience in counseling
Master’s Degree from an accredited college or university in school guidance and counseling
Bachelor Degree in Education or related field
Outstanding organization and communication skills
Excellent judgment, approachability, and ability to problem solve
Experience and passion for working with multiple constituencies, especially children, ages 3-12
