Responsibilities:

  • Provide informational and consultative services to enhance students ability to benefit from their educational program.
  • Facilitate placement and programs of intervention to parents to support child development.
  • Lead meetings required under District Regulations state guidelines and federal regulations.
  • Evaluate students referred for special services to assist in establishing an Individualized Education Plan (IEP).
  • Document student deficits and their impact on educational performance including parent interviews.
  • Recommend and collaborate with classroom teams to develop implement and evaluate instructional programs for students receiving special services.
  • Work with building teams district teams and outside agencies to implement appropriate instruction and behavior management systems.
  • Present cases to the MultiDisciplinary Team (MDT) committee when appropriate.
  • Develop and implement a data management system to collect and record student progress toward IEP goals.
  • Analyze data to recommend appropriate techniques and interventions to building staff.
  • Coordinate procedures for changing the placement of students receiving special services when necessary.
  • Provide individual and group professional development on therapeutic topics and strategies as needed.
  • Collaborate with building teams and other Special Services staff for student and program support.
  • Act as a liaison for therapy implementation and maintain communication between the building principal teachers and Special Services.
  • Maintain compliance with required paperwork both physical and electronic and assist with record transmittal.
  • Connect building staff to resources for successful implementation of special services and interventions.
  • Demonstrate strong relationship skills with students parents and district staff while ensuring open communication.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development and stay updated on therapeutic innovations.
  • Adhere to Governing Policies and District Regulations and Procedures.
  • Participate in special projects and perform related duties consistent with the position.

Qualifications:

  • Masters Degree in School Psychology from an accredited college or university.
  • Previous successful experience as a School Psychologist within public schools or public school systems preferred.
  • Valid Washington State ESA Certificate to function as a School Psychologist.
