Position Summary:
The Director of Strategic Pricing will apply leadership, strategic thinking, and distinctive problem-solving skills to improve profitability across products. Reporting to the CEO, The Director of Strategic Pricing will be responsible for building pricing strategy and then executing the strategy through sustainable processes to embed and expand these changes within the organization. The companys pricing strategy will include evaluating and implementing pricing software (e.g. Zilliant), facilitating strategic pricing sessions with operating companies, supporting the adoption of price guidance, and assisting in the use of pricing analytics.
Need to be a self-starter, able to think strategically, work effectively within the decentralized culture, distill and prioritize opportunities, and articulate clear recommendations to senior managers to drive impactful changes in our strategic approach to pricing.
Responsibilities:
- Has been part of a best-in-class pricing organization and understands all aspects a well-run pricing strategy. Will know how to drive engagement and execution across a multi-market company through influence and collaboration.
- Build and lead a pricing team and connect these central pricing resources to local operating companies.
- Be an effective thought partner and champion of change for the sales team as they develop pricing to compete effectively and meet strategic commercial objectives
- Specify and build out companys pricing system. Leverage analytics and improve tools to provide actionable price guidance.
- Develop and maintain internal pricing controls, processes, and reporting.
- Proactively run price validation processes and diagnose opportunities to improve prices.
- Ensure that pricing is a source of competitive advantage, focused on margin growth, pricing elasticity & customer impact.
- Partner with Leadership Team to understand business strategy and ensure achievement of business goals.
Requirements

- Minimum 10 years strategic pricing experience; at least 4 years in a pricing leadership role.
- Bachelor s Degree in Business Management, Finance, Mathematics, or other pricing related field required. MBA preferred; equivalent work experience considered.
- Exposure to any combination of sales, manufacturing, finance, consulting, or business development that have built genuine business acumen across multiple functions is desired.
- Demonstrated effectiveness managing teams and running technical projects.
- Willingness to roll up your sleeves and do whatever it takes to contribute to get the work done.
- High level of credibility with leaders and employees and a trusted advisor and influencer within the organization.
- Must have particular strength with financial modeling, pricing and commercial diagnostics, and sales & operations.
- Proficiency with MS Office Suite and Experience with Zilliant or similar B2B pricing systems.
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
