Job Description

Responsible for management of the Company s Accounting department (including payroll processing and benefits administration, A/R and A/P). Oversee financial planning, budget management, monthly financial statements, year-end audit coordination and relevant systems implementations. Ensure accounting procedures and reporting conform to generally accepted accounting principles and public company standards while maintaining strong internal controls.


Specific Job Functions


  • Responsible for oversight of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and the filing of SEC required financial reports. Serve as a management liaison for financial audits and report findings and corrective measures to Chief Financial Officer .

  • Maintain strong financial control policies and procedures to ensure validity of the company s financial statements and reporting. Oversee cash management, debt and purchasing agreements in coordination with the Chief Financial Officer.

  • Oversee and lead annual budgeting and planning process, including cash flow projections, contract reviews, and policy matters, working in conjunction with Chief Financial Officer.

  • Work with department heads to manage annual and long term budgeting. Coordinate with finance staff in analyzing information and comparing operating results against budget, including identification of potential problems and recommendations for corrective action.

  • Provide technical accounting US GAAP guidance, ensure financial reports are prepared in compliance with US GAAP. Participate in financial due diligence and other activities surrounding acquisitions or transactions (i.e. secondary offerings), including the preparation of financial documents.

  • Coordinate and oversee any Sarbanes Oxley activities relative to internal controls documentation and testing and segregation of duties.

  • Manage the accounting and reporting of all stock options allocated and manage vendor providing management services.

  • Manage all tax filings for federal, state and local jurisdictions (e.g., corporate/franchise, sales & use tax, property taxes).

  • Coordinate the annual renewal of all insurance policies (e.g. commercial, business/management, workers compensation).

  • Oversee fixed assets, including recording depreciation, accounting for any disposals, and intangible asset tracking and amortization (IP and Software).

  • Oversee inventory management including annual physical inventory, updating product standard costs and reconciliation of detail records to General Ledger.

  • Analyze financial activity and operational efficiencies, making recommendations for improvement.

  • Hire, manage and retain necessary staff and/ or external resources to ensure successful management of financial responsibilities.

  • Provide financial input to strategic decision making, including tax review, audit implications, and reporting requirements.

  • Keep up to date on financial related rules.

  • Oversee benefit providers, performance evaluations and other administrative projects as necessary.



Requirements

Minimum Qualifications, Education & Work Experience


  • Bachelor s degree in Accounting/ Finance with 10 to 12 years minimum experience.

  • Demonstrated management experience over accounting departments.

  • Knowledge of finance, general accounting, and cost accounting principles.

  • Knowledge of current accounting standards, federal and state financial regulations, and applicable business law.

  • Ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports, statements, and projections.

  • Working knowledge of short and long term budgeting and forecasting.

  • Excellent verbal and written skills to communicate with internal and external customers.

  • Good judgment, unquestionable integrity and exceptional attention to detail.

  • Excellent interpersonal management skills, both internal and external.

  • High level of professionalism and poise in a variety of business situations.

  • Demonstrated computer proficiency in standard office software applications and financial systems.


Preferred Qualifications, Education & Work Experience


  • Masters degree in Finance/ Accounting or Business

  • Certified Public Accountant.

  • Medical Device and/or manufacturing industry experience.

  • Public company finance experience.
