PROCUREMENT SPECIALIST (PURCHASING)

General description

We are looking for a Procurement Specialist to buy products or systems which are key to CAF's rail vehicle production at its plants in Spain. You will search for new suppliers in Central and Eastern Europe and integrate them into the CAF Group's supplier network. You will review prices and quality and ensure optimal stock levels. Procurement Specialist responsibilities include evaluating suppliers, negotiating prices and contracts and preparing reports (e.g. on orders and costs.) For this role, you should have good knowledge of market research, along with solid analytical skills to make sure you re identifying the most profitable offers. Ultimately, you ll create and maintain good relationships with key suppliers to ensure merchandise is high quality and delivered on time. You ll will also have to work closely with representatives from other functional areas: Engineering, Quality, Project Management, Manufacturing etc).

Key Responsibilities and Challenges

• Research potential suppliers
• Compare and evaluate offers from suppliers
• Negotiate contract terms of agreement and pricing
• Participation in the supplier approval process
• Ensure timely delivery
• Enter order details (e.g. suppliers, purchasing conditions) into internal databases
• Maintain updated records of purchased products, delivery information and invoices
• Prepare reports on purchases, including cost analyses
• Monitor stock levels
• Coordinate with cross discipline team members of other functions (Project management, Engineering, Manufacturing...).
• Monitor, control and report all aspects related of supply chain activities

Qualifications

• Master s degree in supply chain management, logistics, or business administration, preferably at a technical university
• POLISH LANGUAGE
  

Experience

• Hands-on experience (>3 years) in project procurement
• Experience in a similar role in the railway or automotive sector is desirable

Skills & Competencies

• Excellent communication skills in English, verbal and written. German and/or Spanish will be valuable
• POLISH LANGUAGE (prefered native) is crucial and demanding because of activities on local market
  
• Good knowledge of supplier sourcing practices (researching, evaluating and liaising with suppliers)
• Hands-on experience with purchasing software
• Understanding of supply chain procedures
• Solid analytical skills, with the ability to create financial reports and conduct cost analyses
• Negotiation skills
• Ability to read technical drawings, technical specifications and work together with technicians and suppliers for the technical evaluation of offers
• Good at building relations and finding common views during challenging situations
• Experience working in a high-level collaborative multicultural environment and promoting a teamwork mentality
• Results-oriented. Pro-active in the role and ability to focus activities towards achieving objectives.
• Able to stay motivated, positive and focussed whilst working in a pressured environment.
• Excellent time management and organizational skills, independence in work
