Job Description

Impact's humble beginnings started off with a focus in the 1980s on independent and limited-service hotels in growing suburban and rural markets across the state of Florida. Since then, Impact has built an extensive track record spanning over 40 years in real estate development specializing in hotels, restaurants, and medical offices with over $350 million invested in its property acquisitions and development activity.

Over the past seven years Impact has embarked on a new program to diversify its portfolio by making strategic investments in other industries that leverage its track record of operational excellence. These efforts have resulted in the company entering into new industries like auto collision, homes services, retail, and residential real estate.

We are looking for a Finance Manager/Controller to support both Retail and Home Services business units who has a proven ability to manage an existing junior level accounting team and close the books monthly across business units to produce high level financial reporting and management. You need to be highly analytical and budget focused along with being a good team player/good communicator.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead the finance and accounting team across business units to enable operational excellence and scale, by leading automation, integration, and change management efforts; implementing change and creating programs to increase efficiency
  • Working closely with the CEO on forecasting for growth to scale and helping manage to budgets across business units
  • Setting accounting policies and practices, reporting and compliance, technical accounting, maintenance of related fiscal records, management of transactional shared services, preparation of internal financial reports and analysis, general ledger accounting, development of new accounting systems as needed, and will be a strong project manager and leader with a demonstrated history of implementing positive change and improvement
  • GL, Consolidations, Reconciliation, Monthly reporting
  • Managing the P&L and setting financial budgets and strengthening financial controls
  • Monitor monthly actuals on revenue and break events across business locations
  • You will oversee General Ledger and accounting function; assures accuracy, timeliness, and conformity with professional accounting standards and best practices by generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)
  • Sales tax and Fed and State income tax filings, international tax, and other compliance matters
  • Ensure the understanding of federal and state tax implications to key business decisions and financial accounting/reporting
  • Revenue recognition policies
  • Ensure timely delivery of audits and quality of earnings analyses, as necessary.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience implementing an ERP conversion from Quickbooks
  • CPA nice to have (but not 100% required)
  • Experience managing teams across business locations
  • At least 8+ years of finance experience working in SMB or Middle Market size company that is experiencing growth
  • Proven experience working with C-Suite on strengthening each department - costing, forecasting, analysis, growth, where the business needs support and actioning on the plan
  • Private Equity (PE) exposure is ideal, if you have reported to PE firms in past life (quarterly/monthly)
