Job Description

Our client is seeking a Director of Agribusiness and Shared Services Accounting whose purpose is to manage the accounting and reporting for the consolidated activities of the company, including derivatives and Shared Services, in accordance with GAAP and Corporate accounting policies. They are also to provide financial support for decision making to agriBusiness management.

Responsibilities
  • Lead, manage, motivate, engage, and develop the Co-Products, Futures and Shared Services accounting staffs to ensure all accounting requirements and services are provided in an accurate, timely, and cost effective manner.
  • Lead, promote, and create a safe and secure work environment for all associates per Federal, State, and Local regulations.
  • Manage the daily, weekly, and monthly activities associated with derivatives including the risk position reconciliation and reporting. Work with the VP s of Grain Merchandising, Oilseed Merchandising, and Trading to effectively manage hedged positions in order to keep both the cash and futures sides appropriately matched in quantity and value.
  • Maintain a working knowledge and understanding of ASC815, Derivatives and Hedging to appropriately record the mark-to-market calculation and manage the Fair Value Accounting process for inventories and contracts.
  • Manage the Shared Services accounting area to ensure timely and accurate customer invoicing, vendor payments, and cash application. Work closely with the Credit Manager to effectively manage accounts receivable to achieve planned goals and objectives.
  • Maintain internal controls on inventories, revenues, and expenditures. Oversee balance sheet reconciliations, journal entries, and reporting to ensure that all required areas are in compliance with established Corporate standards.
  • Manage the processes for long and short term planning and reporting of the financial performance (key balance sheet metrics and full income statement) for assigned business units with an objective to increase margins, reduce cost, and improve accuracy, format, and analytical insight.
  • Provide oversight to the consolidated AgriBusiness results. Work with the AgriBusiness Controller to ensure that both the Balance Sheet and Income Statement reflect the proper balances including appropriate eliminations. Manage the preparation of consolidated AgriBusiness reporting.
  • Provide oversight and coordination of the annual audit for the company.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned as assigned by the supervisor.

Requirements
  • BS Degree (Accounting or Accounting Concentration)
  • MBA, CPA, CMA preferred
  • Understanding of agricultural accounting
  • Understanding of commodity markets
  • Knowledge of GAAP
  • Strong math and analytical skills
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Understanding of systems and software applications
  • 10-15+ years experience
