POSITION SUMMARY:
This Machine Maintenance and/or Packaging Maintenance Mechanics troubleshoot and repair electrical and mechanical equipment throughout the plant except for equipment assigned to their department throughout the plant. Maintenance Technicians are responsible for the preventative maintenance, change out and set up of equipment for operation. Refrigeration Technicians
REQUIREMENTS:
Maintenance: Minimum of (1) year of maintenance mechanic work experience documented in the work history section of application or be a graduate of industrial maintenance training program.
Refrigeration: Minimum (1) year of experience maintaining and troubleshooting ammonia refrigeration systems
Any combination of technical skills trade education and machine maintenance experience will be considered.
RESPONSIBILITIES and KNOWLEDGE:
Maintenance Technicians:
Provide preventative maintenance electrical or mechanical operation.
Ability to install /maintain hydraulic equipment, pumps, motors, cylinders.
Troubleshoot or repair mechanical equipment.
Ability to change out or set up equipment, i.e., mixers, pumps, processing equipment.
Must be able to change out and set-up equipment for operation.
Must be able to perform minor prefab and run machine shop equipment.
Personnel are responsible for cleaning their work area.
Must be able to work overtime if required
May be subject to call back on weekends and holidays
Able to work in adverse temperatures
General knowledge of gear drives and conveyors as well as pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
Able to work weekends, and holidays, as required.
Able to work in adverse temperatures, and damp environments, required.
Knowledge of CMMS, preferred
Refrigeration Technicians:
Must obey all safety, USDA, HACCP, and company rules and regulations.
Must be able to interpret drawings, schematics and be able to use tools as required.
Maintain entire ammonia system including valve gangs, evaporators, vessels, and compressors.
Maintain and monitor plant boiler systems.
Maintain and monitor plant HVAC systems.
Observe and record temperatures and pressures as required.
Observe and maintain air compressors.
Maintain plant freshwater and make up water systems.
Collaborate with PSM coordinator to review written Process Safety Manual (PSM) and Risk Management Plan (RPM) programs
Interface with CMMS system for PM completion and entering and completing work orders.
Requirements
PLC Troubleshooting skills.
Electrical controls, wiring, instrumentation & Troubleshooting skills, Pipe Fitting/Plumbing skills
Experience with troubleshooting and maintaining Pneumatic systems
Possess good communication skills (both written and orally).
Must be able to work weekends and overtime and take on call coverage.
