Job Description


Chaloner has partnered with CTP Boston on their search for a Public Relations Account Director to join their team.


If you are a senior communications professional who loves to tell stories in a way that moves people and your clients business, we have a spot on our award-winning PR team at CTP, one of Bostons hottest agencies. At CTP, we believe in human-to-human communications, not consumer marketing. Were looking for a strategic-minded and creatively-driven communications professional who thinks that way, as well. Specifically, were looking for an Account Director to lead and grow existing client accounts. In this position, you will work directly with our clients and lead a team to create, plan and drive successful, integrated communications programs.


Our Account Director is responsible for leading communications strategy, directing and oversight of accounts, working closely with internal teams and clients on communications initiatives that stretch beyond traditional PR and achieve breakthrough visibility and impact. You are also an important leader in the agency, advancing our brand externally, assisting with new business development, and helping to sustain and grow our dynamic and close-knit agency culture.


Job Responsibilities:



  • As a senior leader, work directly with client decision-makers and provide exceptional client service and account management

  • Through oversight and guidance, ensure effective and timely implementation of PR programs, including managing budgets and timelines

  • Develop strategic plans, presentations, briefs and other PR materials

  • Ensure that client direction is clear and achievable and related to teams

  • Provide clients with clear, measured strategic approaches

  • Manage multiple client accounts

  • Develop and maintain successful relationships with key journalists and other influencer


Qualifications:



  • BA/BS or equivalent required

  • 6+ years in marketing communications in-house or at an agency

  • Highly organized, mindful of deadlines, able to multi-task and work under limited supervision

  • Strong written and oral communications and presentation skills

  • Experience planning, managing and executing strategic programs that track toward clear, measurable goals

  • Strong work ethic, high energy, with a track record of following through with high-quality deliverables on schedule and on budget in a fast-paced environment

  • Genuine interest in learning a range of subject areas and understanding of the news and trends that provide opportunities and threats within each clients industry, which could range from financial services, energy, and technology to retail, sports, and real estate

  • Adept in media relations, thought leadership, spokesperson development, writing, social media/digital

  • Exceptional ability in managing client relationships

  • Experience developing relevant story opportunities and providing traditional and digital/social recommendations to clients

  • Ability to think quickly, strategically and effectively;

  • Assist with developing content, including pitches, news releases, social messaging and story ideas with relevance to current news and events
