Job Description

The Community Coordinator brings fun and energy to Cheeks Playroom. If you have a positive attitude, are a self-starter, and enjoy working with children and families, make an impact on our community and join our team!



This full-time role will help maintain our play area and coworking space, host parties and events, and provide excellent customer service at our Bolingbrook, IL location.


Responsibilities


  • Greet, check in, and register customers

  • Accept and process customer payments using Square

  • Ensure that the play area and coworking spaces are tidy

  • Ensure that play and office equipment are clean and properly maintained at all times

  • Ensure children’s safety by keeping entryways secure, enforcing safety guidelines, encouraging safe and cooperative play, and keeping in communication with patrons who have children in the premises who are using the coworking space

  • Restock consumables such as paper, refreshments, snacks, and merchandise

  • Work with the Community Manager and Operations Manager to resolve customer issues

  • Prepare the store to open for the day or close for the night as needed

  • Host events and parties and ensure guests have fun and are taken care of

  • Work with third-party vendors to ensure services are ready to go for scheduled events

    • Prepare the party space and set up events per customer specifications

    • Run events and ensure they start and end on time

    • Help customers wrap up their event and clean up the party space



  • As needed: Run community events

    • Set up and run interactive activities such as crafts or STEM projects with children

    • Coordinate with and set up speakers




Requirements


  • Experience working at an indoor play area, daycare, or similar facility

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Strong customer service skills

  • Has an optimistic, empathic, and courteous approach to resolving customer issues

  • Ability to handle transactions accurately and responsibly

  • Effective communicator for the benefit of customers and vendors
